by DhiaI’m not a very big fan of reading but I have read several interesting books like; Perks of Being a Wallflower, 13 Reasons Why, Sugar Daddy, Me & Mr Darcy, Nicholas Sparks’ book and most of all, my childhood favourite writer; Roald Dahl. As I am not a very committed person, I have had few books which I’ve never finished. I know I should read more though, unlike my mother and my brothers. What we all have in common is that we love to buy books and get it autographed if we have the chance to.
Recently, my school was visited by an author who wrote the book “How to Avoid Being Killed in a War zone”, Rosie Garthwaite, who is a former writer in some news papers, worked in the BBC and Al-Jazeera! This book is her first book. She came to school to discuss her book which consists of useful tips that we could use while documenting in the war zones, answer our questions, told us how she joined the British army at the age of 18 (she is 31 now) and have been visiting war zones ever since.
Some of us cried (mostly girls), including me, hilariously cried while listening to her inspiring stories.
